The toning of the print is
useful not only for the aesthetic reasons, but for archival reasons
as well. Toning gives strange results when compared to a normal
print. Selenium turned the forte picture brown, gold made the
Osteospemum loose detail.
Experimentation is the key with toning lith prints, the only way
to learn is to do it. I have very little experience with the Lith
process, but am already hooked.
